Our Story

Three viola nerds came together to collaborate and build this community in the spring of 2022!

William Hinkie and Lindsay Genadek were already collaborating as colleagues in Denver, Colorado through the writing and publication of an article for the American String Teacher’s Association titled Unpacking the Adult Learner; Scenarios for the Private String Teacher. Molly Sharp, principal violist of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra in Virginia, had reached out through her website VlaTutti.com in an effort to find others who were interested in working with adult viola students. William and Lindsay answered the call and the Bratsche Bunch was born!!

We are professional violists and educators with a mission for creating a community that will serve adult violists in a variety of different capacities. They bring to this venture a wealth of experience and knowledge that ranges from teaching in the public schools to colleges and universities. As performing violists, they have extensive experience playing as professional orchestral musicians and chamber musicians in a wide variety of settings. They are excited to share this wealth of knowledge and information with the adult viola participants of the Bratsche Bunch!
